MLS Player Power Rankings After Matches from August 20-24

Winners and Losers from MLS Matches from August 22-24

MLS Player Power Rankings After Matches from August 15-17

In a week where 29 goals were scored across Major League Soccer, some of the hottest players in the league found the back of the net.  Thanks to the tremendous efforts from Fabian Castillo, Gyasi Zardes and others, the race for the top spot in the MLS Player Power Rankings continued to heat up.  With Golden Boot leader Bradley Wright-Phillips on a bye week, the opportunity to seize the top spot on the list of the top-20 players grew for Zardes, Dom Dwyer and Robbie Keane.  Continue reading on to see if any of the on-fire players in MLS were able to knock Wright-Phillips off his throne. Begin Slideshow

Winners and Losers from MLS Matches from August 15-17

During the slate of nine matches in Major League Soccer this weekend, it was made clear who the winners and losers were.  Four of the seven victorious sides in Week 23 won by two goals or more in games that were exciting to watch, at least for the winning-team's fans.  Some of those electric offensive displays brought out some terrible man marking and bad decisions inside the box from opposing defenses.  With that being said, the list of winners and losers from Week 23 features players who faced completely different fortunes on the pitch. Begin Slideshow

MLS Team of the Week for Matches from August 15-17: Castillo, Akindele Shine

Plenty of attackers caught fire in Week 23 of play in Major League Soccer, but no duo were as hot as Fabian Castillo and Tesho Akindele. The FC Dallas attacking pair were responsible for all five of their team's goals against San Jose, which makes them easy selections for the latest MLS Team of the Week.  A few other teams caught the high-scoring fever flying around MLS this weekend, which is why Castillo and Akindele aren't the only pair of teammates included in this week's selection of the best 11 players from around the league.  This week's team is set up in a 4-3-1-2 to spread the love to all the star attackers from Week 23. Begin Slideshow
